We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.

Statute of Limitations for Wrongful Deaths in Arizona

It is necessary to remember that wrongful death claims are beholden to a very strict deadline. In Arizona, specific surviving family members are allotted two years from the day of the death to bring a wrongful death claim if they hope to be eligible to collect financial compensation.

If you neglect to file before the statute lapses, your case will be dismissed by the court. Although the statute of limitations is essentially set in stone, there are some scenarios after which a surviving family member may be allowed to file past this deadline. A practiced and knowledgeable personal injury lawyer can readily evaluate your case and determine whether or not your claim is still valid.

During their investigation, a car accident lawyer from Saavedra Law Firm, PLC will gather evidence of negligence, study liability policies, and correctly calculate the amount of economic recovery you are entitled to for your losses. This includes going over the deceased’s financial records to estimate their lost income, potential income, and lapsed benefits as well as speaking with their physicians to establish the degree of pain and suffering prior to their death.

If your family member died from someone’s negligence, call our Arizona personal injury attorneys to schedule a no-obligation review with a member of our firm as soon as possible.
