Phoenix, AZ (June 12, 2022) – One person was killed during a head-on crash in north Phoenix on Sunday, June 12th.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident took place at about 12:00 a.m. when a driver was reported heading the wrong way down State Route 51 in the area of Bethany Home Road.
The driver was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.
Shortly after being notified of the wrong-way driver, a collision was reported in the vicinity of Northern Avenue.
At least one person was killed on impact. Another was transferred to a trauma center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
