Phoenix, AZ – Motorist Killed in Collision Involving Box Truck on US-60

Phoenix, AZ (April 04, 2022) – Authorities were called to the scene when a Penske box truck caused a multi-vehicle accident on US-60 that resulted in the death of a motorist on Monday, April 4th.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the Penske truck collided with a Toyota passenger vehicle in the area of 163rd Avenue, causing the car to veer into the median. 

The truck then struck a Nissan Altima, killing its driver. A tractor-trailer also collided with the box truck.

The Penske driver was taken to the hospital as were two passengers from the Toyota who sustained injuries.

DPS said investigators are determining whether impairment be have been played a factor in the collision.

The identity of the deceased driver has not been disclosed.
