Mesa, AZ (April 13, 2022) – One person died when a car struck two pedestrians in Mesa on Tuesday, April 12th.

Officials say the accident took place at about 9:00 p.m. in the area of Dobson Road and Main Street.

An investigation found that 40-year-old Aaron Conger and a woman were crossing the light rail tracks on Main Street moments before the crash occurred.

Conger tripped over the curb and fell into the roadway. The woman was attempting to help him up when a car swerved to avoid striking the pair who were then hit by a second vehicle.

One of the pedestrians died at the scene and the other was taken to a local hospital, although their condition was not made clear.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. The driver could be facing DUI charges pending the outcome of toxicology tests.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.

Critical Pedestrian Injuries in Arizona

If your pedestrian injuries were the result of a driver who broke the law or otherwise behaved negligently, you are entitled to seek financial compensation from their insurance company. Arizona is an at-fault insurance state, meaning that after any kind of automobile accident, the injured victim will seek financial recovery from the insurer of the at-fault driver. Their insurance company could have to cover the cost of your medical bills and other losses up to the policy’s limits.

Protect your rights and yourself by having the right attorney on your side throughout the claims process. Hire a personal injury lawyer in Arizona with years of experience handling pedestrian accidents and an established track record of successful claim outcomes.
