Phoenix, AZ – Three Dead, Six Injured in Fiery Collision Involving Stolen Car at 43rd Ave and Thunderbird Rd

Phoenix, AZ (July 22, 2022) – Three people were killed and six more were injured during a multi-vehicle collision involving a stolen vehicle on Friday, July 22nd in Phoenix. 

The incident took place at about 2:00 a.m. in the area of Thunderbird Road and 43rd Avenue when a car making a lefthand turn onto Thunderbird Road was struck by a vehicle speeding northbound on 43rd Avenue.  

Following the impact, the struck vehicle went up in flames, leading to the deaths of all three occupants. 

Six people, a mixture of teenagers and young adults, were in the stolen vehicle.  

The intersection was shut down for several hours but reopened around 3:00 p.m.
