The accident took place at about 5:00 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the exit ramp leading to 16th Street.

The truck overturned and landed on its passenger side, obstructing multiple lanes.

A man in his 50s and a 9-year-old girl were transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. A woman and a man were also hospitalized in stable condition.

A police investigation is underway.

Driver Negligence and Truck Accidents in Arizona

Even though commercial trucking crashes do not get nearly as much attention as accidents involving smaller passenger vehicles. they are usually much more severe. By law, trucks are motor vehicles that weigh more than 10,000 pounds, but a lot of commercial trucks are much bigger and can weigh as much as 80,000 pounds. In contrast, a typical passenger vehicle only weighs about 3,000 pounds.

The significantly larger weight and size of a truck make it more probable that critical injuries or fatalities will ensue when they are involved in an accident. Tractor-trailers might also be carrying hazardous or overweight freight which increases the odds of someone being seriously or fatally injured.

Most commercial trucking accidents are another person’s fault. If another driver’s action or inaction caused an accident, then the injured parties might be able to recover damages for their injuries or the death of a family member. These damages could include medical costs, pain, suffering, lost wages, and many other collision-related expenses.

According to the law, a truck accident is an event or series of events that involve a vehicle that weighs more than 10,000 pounds and causes damage to property, bodily harm, and/or death. Most of these collisions are determined to have been exacerbated or caused by another.

In order for truck crash victims to collect financial compensation, the accident has to meet three specific criteria:

  • The accident took place because of the recklessness or negligence of another
  • The injury or death of a person resulted from the accident
  • Their injuries resulted in incurred losses

Negligence is can be established through various types of evidence, such as pictures, police reports, videos, and testimony from bystanders and eyewitnesses. In most instances, there are other forms of evidence that can prove useful in proving negligence, including indications of driver intoxication, drug use, and extreme fatigue.
