Mesa, AZ (April 08, 2022) – An EMT was killed during a collision with a tractor-trailer on State Route 87 in Mesa on Friday, April 8th.
The EMT, an ambulance driver with the Salt River Fire Department, died at the scene on SR-87 in the area of McDowell Road.
A paramedic from the ambulance was also hospitalized in critical condition and, according to sources, will require surgery.
The tractor-trailer operator was also hospitalized with non-critical injuries.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety stated that the ambulance was driving with its emergency lights activated, heading to a call involving a woman having pregnancy complications. The ambulance was turning onto SR-87 when it was struck by the tractor-trailer.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
To secure compensation for the wrongful death of a relative, a wrongful death claim may be filed by a surviving parent, spouse, or child against the company, government entity, persons, or any party that behaved negligently, maliciously, recklessly, or in such a manner as to cause another person’s death.
Wrongful death claims are most often associated with deadly accidents, like bicycle accidents, car accidents, motorcycle accidents, tractor-trailer accidents, or accidents involving defective products.
You may be entitled to economic recovery for your damages. Some damages, such as medical bills and lost income, are ubiquitous in wrongful death claims. Other damages, however, differ from claim to claim and are established according to the claimant’s relationship with the deceased.
In order to understand what compensation you and your family may be entitled to, is important to have a reliable attorney on your side; one who is committed to advising and supporting you every step of the way.
