Glendale, AZ – Three Injured in Strip Mall Fire at Glenwood Plaza Shopping Center

Glendale, AZ (March 10, 2022) – Three people sustained injuries during a fire at a strip mall in Glendale on Thursday, March 10th. The fire broke out at about 6:00 p.m. at the shopping center located at the intersection of Camelback Road and 66th Avenue.  

Eyewitnesses reported hearing an explosion and seeing black smoke rising from the northeast section of the building. One man and two women were treated for multiple lacerations caused by the exploding store windows. One of the women was transported to a local hospital. The other two victims were treated at the scene. 

It took firefighters more than an hour to get the fire under control due to the flames being fed by heavy wind gusts.  

The explosion and fire are under investigation.
