Wittmann, AZ – Fatal Wrong-Way Accident on US-60

Wittmann, AZ (May 06, 2022) – One person was killed in a wrong-way accident involving several vehicles on US-60 northwest of Phoenix on Friday, May 6th.

Reports indicate that the crash took place at about 2:30 a.m. when a Dodge Ram that was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes collided with a tractor-trailer at mile marker 131 just outside of Wittmann.

The driver of the Dodge died at the scene. A passenger in the pick-up was ejected and taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-critical injuries. 

The driver of the tractor-trailer also sustained non-critical injuries. 

No names have been released. Impairment is thought to be a factor in the accident.
