Causes of Arizona Bicycle Accidents

If your bicycle accident and subsequent serious or fatal injuries were due to one or more of these reasons, you could be eligible to bring a personal injury claim against the driver of the vehicle for your injuries and other accident-related damages.

Bicyclists and bike lanes are not fully integrated into the roadways of many of Arizona’s communities. Even though this is gradually starting to change, there are still numerous areas that do not take adequate care to make sure that riders are protected from foreseeable accidents.

There are many sets of circumstances that can cause a collision between a motor vehicle and a person riding a bicycle. Ideally, every driver would give their complete attention to the roadway, pedestrians, and bicycle riders at all times, but, unfortunately, this does not always happen.

With all of these obstacles to safe cycling in mind, however, driver disregard and driver distraction remain the two leading causes of fatal and injury-causing bicycle accidents in the Phoenix area.

Besides other drivers on the roadway, bicyclists also face additional concerns. There is a shortage of appropriate street warning signs as well as lanes designated for cyclists only. Both of these foster an environment where serious accidents involving bicycles are likely to take place.
